Goodbye 2020

I was thinking about what I am thankful for in 2020. I think many people do not enjoy 2020 and I can definitely understand why. The changing circumstances have caused a lot of stress on many of us.

Education also evolved globally. Many teachers and educators took their content and teaching to the world wide web. Some educators conducted live lessons remotely using Zoom, Google Meet or other video conferencing tools. Some educators created videos and posted on Youtube for students to learn asynchronously.

I am thankful I had time when Singapore went into Circuit Breaker to create Youtube videos and other revision worksheets for graduating students. I have been wanting to do this for years but such things need a block period of time for you to slowly work on. Circuit breaker provided exactly that freedom and time for me to work on my professional development.

On a personal level, I am thankful for the birth of my daughter in August! She has been a bundle of joy for my wife and I and I dare say I have learned a lot since her birth.

Here’s a cute summary of what I am thankful for in 2020!
